Genesys Continues Support of Second Fleet Leadership through Analysis of Second Alignment/Execution Study

As a follow-on effort to the October 2007 briefing to VADM Marty Chanik, Commander Second Fleet of the results of the 2006 and 2007 Alignment/Execution Study, which included the application of Genesys’ two leadership models—Alignment and SCORE™--VADM Chanik invited Genesys senior consultants to present the results of the analysis to additional members of the Second Fleet’s senior leadership team in Norfolk, VA.

Under the direction of VADM Chanik, Genesys illuminated the significant changes in the 2007 analysis from the initial 2006 analysis.  The 2007 Alignment/Execution Study included more than 15,000 additional participants than the 2006 effort and the increases in alignment and the ability to execute strategic initiatives were substantial.  The favorable results of the 2007 Alignment/Execution Study were attributed to the sustained focus of the implementation of action plans which were developed based on the information revealed by the 2006 analysis.

The Second Fleet, which is headquartered in Norfolk, VA, is a combined component of the US Navy’s Atlantic Fleet.  The Second Fleet provides six Carrier Strike Groups, five Expeditionary Strike Groups, and seven Surface Strike Groups in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and maritime security operations.  The Fleet also serves as Maritime Headquarters with a Maritime Operation Center.
